BEFORE ENGINE START UP,
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING!
You must prime your oil system and purge it of trapped air. This is
very critical, and if not done properly can cause severe damage to your
engine. If you have a Remote Oil Filter system, make sure your lines are
connected properly. If the lines are crossed, it will not circulate the
oil, and will damage your engine. Fill your remote filter and put 4 quarts
of oil in your engine. Your return line back to your engine hooks up to
your center engine adapter. Remove it and lay it in a pan, remove the
spark plugs, then spin your engine over until the oil flows out of the
line. Connect it up, then remove Top-end Oiler at the T, where the 90
degree bend connects to. Continue spinning the engine over until oil comes
out of line. You are now ready to start the engine.
Total engine break-in time is 2 hours before you race at full speed!
I recommend Castrol GTX 20 W 50, for break in and 1 race. Break in time
should be kept to 15 minute intervals, with a cool down period in between.
Be sure to put a fan in front to keep the engine cool. Try to get 2 hours
on it! This will help the engine last longer and run stronger for a long
time.
